Requirements:

Psychiatrist/Telepsychiatrist

Advanced Telepsychiatry, Inc. is currently looking for Full Time or Part Time Psychiatrists to join a diverse practice and work with an experienced clinical staff. Advanced Telepsychiatry, Inc. is an innovative company bringing care to patients via telepsychiatry and telecounseling. Applicants from outside of Virginia are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities:
  • Prescribe, direct or administer psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental health, emotional, or behavior disorders
  • Gather and maintain accurate and timely documentation including social or medical history obtained from patients, relatives, or other professionals, consistent with agency standards
  • Adhering to strict HIPAA standards
  • Designed individualized care plans using a variety of treatments
  • Collaborate with other clinical staff as needed including physicians, psychologists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, or other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress
  • Assures quality and safe service for patients and staff by enforcing policies, procedures, standard rules, JCAHO requirements, and legal regulations; participating in utilization reviews
  • Analyze and evaluate patient data or test findings to diagnose nature or extent of mental disorder.
  • Fill out and maintain client-related paperwork, including federal and state mandated forms, client diagnostic records, and progress notes
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:
  • Applicants must possess licensure (MD/DO) in the state where services will be rendered, to and from both states
  • Willing to obtain other state licenses as applicable by business needs
  • Experience in a similar setting is preferred, Medicare/Medicaid registration preferred
  • Experience providing direct mental health services and medication management to adults, children, adolescents and families from diverse ethnic backgrounds as applicable to specialty

Skills:
  • Basic computer skills; must be comfortable working with tele-equipment, training will be provided
  • Ability to adhere to productivity guidelines
  • Ability to assess crisis situations and intervene appropriately
  • Give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking questions as appropriate

  • Evaluate patients’ behavior to formulate diagnoses or assess treatments

  • Applicants must possess nursing certification with psychiatric specialty
  • Willing to obtain other state licenses as applicable by business needs
  • Minimum of one year of professional and clinical experience in the areas of mental health, counseling, and substance use is preferred
  • Experience providing direct mental health services and medication management to adults, children, adolescents and families from diverse ethnic backgrounds as applicable to specialty

Skills:

  • Conduct initial Biopsychological Assessments and initial patient evaluations
  • Provide diagnostic mental health assessments and effective individual, family, group and couples psychotherapy to children, adolescents and their families
  • Therapist will be expected to build meaningful relationships, maintain good boundaries and be responsive to the needs of a diverse community
